Quilting Guild of the Villages Executive Board Meeting- May 19, 2009

Meeting called to order at 3:00 pm by Pres. Cheryle Hahnfeldt.
Sec. minutes of April 21, 2009 were read and approved.
Tres. Carol Knoll gave a complete financial report and stated we did receive the vv vendors' fees of $1960. Checkbook balance: $24,803.66. We now have 515 paid members.
Pres. Hahnfeldt thanked Tres. Knoll for completing our tax forms and sending them to the IRS.
Vice- Pres. Sharon Hall reported on upcoming programs: June 2, Fireside Quilt 
Shop, July 7, picnic(social only) each bring a coveredd dish, Aug 4, Garage Sale
(quilt related items): Sept.1: Sew Cherished Quilt Shop: Oct.6: Demo Night:
Nov. 3; Joan Shey(Petal Play); Dec. 1 Christmas Party. She also gave a list of 
possible lecturers for 2010-2011, who are: Charlotte Angotti, Roxanne Carter,
Dianne McClure, Sharon Pederson, and Pat Wise.
Pres. Hahnfeldt encouraged members to ask for speakers they are interested in 
having for the Guild meetings.

Quilt Show co-chair, Carol Reid asked for Chapter volunteers to work on com-
mittees at the Show. She stated thet Kathy Howe is contacting show judges;
the black draping fabric has been purchased. Soon quilt categories will be de-
signated and members will start creating the raffle quilts.

Old Business; update of speakers rodter. Betty Polling volunteered to coordinate 
the chapt. lists into one master list of people will to teach.

Pres. Hahnfeldt read Thank You notes from Bev. Jahn and Hospice. 
Vice-Pres. Sharon Hall made a motion that in the furture we acknowledge our
thanks to the Quilt Show Co-Chairs with a gift for their hard work and dedication.
Betty Heninger seconded. Motion carried.

New Business: Pres. Hahnfeldt announced we needed a form for chapters to use 
in applying for monitary grants. Each chapt. is allowed $250 per year to use to
use toward charity or educational works. The executive officers will make the 
yes and no decisions. Karen Leonard volunteered to create a form.
Pres. Hahnfeldt encouraged each chapt. to update their portion of our Guild web-
site. Put in Officers, new and ongoing projects, when and where you meet, etc.
She also discussed if there was a need to create another chapt. and will place 
an ad in the newspaper.
Mary Ann Kayackas announced a new group, EQ5, will be meeting at Laural 
Manor the first Tues. of June. at 11;30. This is a computer program for design-
ing quilts.
Pres. Hahnfeldt thanked Board members for coming out in the rain. She an-
nounced a World Quilt show in Palm Beach' Nov. 13-15,2009. There will be no 
Board meeting in July.
