We have invited The Piecemakers and The Quilting Bees to Chatham on 6/29. We are planning a 4th of July "picnic" with picnic type foods and we will all try to wear red, white and blue. Joy Reynolds is in charge, so call her to let her know what you can bring.
You
all should have received boutique guidelines in your e-mail. Maureen

Villages. 4/28,

will be provided should we become separated during the drive. The
driving time is approx. 1hr. 15 min. Miles: approx 52 miles
each way. Car
pool is suggested so get together with your quilter friends for these
arrangements. Lunch
will be reserved at the Main St. Grille.
Package #1 will be $8.49. Package #2 will be 2
courses at $11.99.
Both include beverage, tax and gratuity. You will choose your
package upon being seated. Those
interested are asked to sign up w/Maureen or Alice.
A sign- up sheet will be provided. Linda
Cantrell will be the speaker at the guild meeting in May.
We
received our next step in the mystery quilt and saw a sample of what it
looks like to that point. Donation
quilts are going great guns. We
have 22 small quilts, 15 medium and 4 large.
We talked about using some of the nicer donation quilts
as items to put on the Boutique table at the quilt show.
Everyone thought it was a good idea.
Monies earned would be turned back to the Donation Quilt project. We
have received our raffle tickets and have been asked to fill them out and
return them as soon as possible. Even
though we have paid for them already, we can still sell them, keeping the
money as a refund. The
brunch with Laurel Manor was a great success.
There was a very nice assortment of different foods, the tables
were placed very well and we especially liked the food table in the center
of the room. You did a
wonderful job, ladies. Thank
you so much from us all! Nancy
Eisenhower has made up kits for the dog beds.
If you want some just ask her. Sheila
King will take shirt orders on 4/27.
She needs to be paid, by check, at the time of the order. On
4/20 Chatham will be having its own mini retreat.
We have the room until 2:00 PM so bring your lunch.
There will be a class on hand appliqué for those who are
interested. Also, we will be
making the therapy pillow cases for the soldiers.
If you are cutting fabric for the pillow cases, cut it 13.5 inches
by the width of the fabric. A
few ladies are going to bring their surgers and there will be three
cutting mats, rulers and rotary cutters there. Or,
you can do your own project. We
had our first UFO drawing on Tuesday.
Kay Hasson was the winner. The
next UFO is number 1 and is due on June 8th. Chatham

Hi fellow quilters, maybe I can quilt, but computing seems to be another story. I am having the devil’s own time getting my act together with this newsletter and getting it out to you all. Thanks for your patience and understanding, hopefully it will get better with time. Margo RETREAT The retreat is over and a good time was had by all. Our retreat team: Sharleen Peters, Joanne Reese and Sandy Shillington did a wonderful job!! The

The
Board will meet on March 16th. Please
bring any ideas or suggestions you have to share OTHER
THINGS Lake
Miona Quilters came to us for a workshop day.
We shared show and tell and drew for the challenge exchange.
It was a fun morning. Many
thanks, Barbara Hill, for teaching us “Delores’s
Quilt”.
It is a very pretty quilt and a great way to use scraps. We are working on part 2 of the mystery quilt and it is still quite a mystery. Eileen Powers and Lucille Tremblay are our leaders in the mystery. Our
membership committee has sent each of you a picture directory of the Chatham
membership. You can print it, or
keep it in your computer. I have
stored mine in a document
file named Chatham Quilters. It is
easy to access and always just where I left it.
Racing
Fingers Quilt Guild will be presenting “Quilts, Tea and Creativity” at the
Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach on Saturday, March 20, 2010, from 1
to 4 PM. For more information see
Maureen or Alice. Many
of us went to the Mt. Dora Quilt Show unbeknownst to the others.
It was fun to keep running into Chatham Quilters.
It was a nice quilt show and we had a good time. COMPANY
IS COMING We have invited Laurel Manor Quilters for brunch on March 30th. Everyone will be asked to bring a dish to share. More on this soon.
