Chatham Quilters
– January 2008
Happy New Year and Best Wishes to everyone in 2008! Can you believe the holidays are over? Time certainly goes by quickly. The parties are over, the company is gone, and the decorations have been put away, so now it’s time to get busy quilting! Our officers for 2008 are as follows: President Kay Hasson; Vice-President Marilyn Crosby; Treasurer Joy Reynolds; Secretary Joanne Reese. Many thanks to former president Ilga Pivetz and former secretary Sandy Shillington for all their hard work the past few years. Our chapter gets better and better, thanks to the dedicated people that work so hard see that our meetings run smoothly and keep us informed. The following is the new format for our weekly meetings: Ø First Tuesday – Business Meeting Ø Second Tuesday – Show and Tell Ø Third Tuesday – Class Ø Fourth Tuesday – Sunshine Quilts In spite of this schedule, we will still be very flexible. While you will receive most of the information regarding the Guild on the first Tuesday, we will continue to update you with any new information as it becomes available. Also, while the second Tuesday is for Show and Tell, if you have something that you can’t bring on that day, by all means bring it whenever you can – we still want to see your accomplishments! We are forming new committees and positions. They are: Ø Hospitality Committee Ø Special Events Ø Historian Ø Budget Any volunteers, please see Kay Hasson. Maureen Girardin won the blotto in December. Maureen will have kits ($1) for the new blotto at our next meeting. It’s a new year for Secret Sisters. Please bring your items on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. “Hide” them in a Wal-Mart bag so your secret sister can’t identify you as you come into the building. Effective immediately, you can see Sheila King if you are interested in buying a shirt with your name and the guild’s insignia. The Raffle tickets are here! If you have not already done so, please see Joy Reynolds to pick up your raffle tickets. You should immediately sign them and return to Joy. Upcoming Events: January 29: Marilyn
Crosby’s class, “Thinking Outside the Box”.
