BLOTTO – March 6

Mary Jo Bergland has “designed” the March Blotto.  You can get your kit from Ilga on Tuesday for only $1 (correct change, please).  The pattern is “Free Form Stars” with the finished quilt called “The Milky Way”.  Return your completed block no later than March 27 and have a chance to win ALL of the blocks. 

 

The Villages Quilt Guild Meeting

Reminder – Guild Meeting, Tuesday evening, 7 p.m. Laurel Manor.  Remember your nametag and Villages ID.

 

CHATHAM RETREAT – April 3 – 5

It is getting closer and Joy Lynch will have the supply lists for the various classes on Tuesday.  Fees for the two classes that have kits will also be collected.

 

MEMBERSHIP CARDS

More cards are being printed and Ilga will have them soon.  The card many of you received last year with Dale’s name is still valid.

 

LIFELONG LEARNING COLLEGE CLASSES

Have you taken a class yet?  Signups have been slow for the April class, so we urge you to consider participating.  Guild members sign up early and are eligible for the “Patron” rate.  Classes are opened to the public a month before the class.  If there is not enough participation, classes may be discontinued.

 

QUILTING ON SATURDAY!

Our room at Chatham is available for our use each Saturday in March with the exception of the 17^th from 1-4 p.m.  We can work on any quilt or sewing project with the use of the long tables.  Table leg extenders can be used, if needed.

 

SOCIABLE STITCHING

Another chance to quilt, stitch or any other needlework project and socialize.  Look for us at Laurel Manor on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 1 – 4 p.m.

 

QUILT SHOW NEWS AND NOTES

Chatham Quilters will be responsible for vendors for the 2009 Quilt Show.  Currently, we need two volunteers to serve as co-chairpersons to be the focal point (this does not mean you do all the work).  See Ilga for more information and to volunteer.

Since the Village's Quilt was sold, the money received is to go to a charity.  On Tuesday Ilga will accept the names of well-deserving charities to be presented to the Executive Board for consideration.

Note cards – Did you see the packets of note cards featuring The Villages Quilt and the two donation quilts from the 2005 show?  They sold out early but we hear that packets will be available at a Guild meeting in the near future.
