Chatham Retreat – April 3 - 5

Well, the time is finally here for the Retreat.  I am looking forward to a chance to sit, sew, talk, etc. with friends and without all of the interruptions we all have at home.  We don’t even have to figure out “what‘s for dinner”!  We hope that all of those attending have a wonderful time and share with us in the weeks ahead.  Have fun, ladies!                   Sandy

Demo in April . . .

Our very talented Nancy Smith with be doing a demonstration of Brazilian Embroidery.

Habitat Family

Pam Mathis, mother of the family of nine children, reports that their home should be started very soon. Permits were being acquired this past week.  She will plan to come to our June 5 meeting and bring the children with her.  We will present the quilts to them on that day.

A BIG, BIG THANK YOU TO CAROL YOHN for all the quilting work she has done for this project!

Secret Sister Gifts

Just a reminder that if your Secret Sister is not at Quilting, you need to take the gift home and bring it back the following week.   Thanks for your help!

Block of the Month

Quilting Guild of the Villages Roster

Something to think about . . .

Ways to encourage more interaction, mingling (is that a word?) at the evening Guild meetings are needed.  Chatham  will discuss this at our April 17 meeting.

Belated Thank you . . .

. . .to Lorene Gruber for the wonderful “Trunk Show”,

. . . to Carolyn Girvin for planning and teaching the Mystery Quilt on Saturday afternoons in February,

. . . to everyone who made “quilts” to go with the cradles made by the Villages Woodworking group,

Thank you,

To everyone who helped put the five Charter School quilts together in less than a week.

 Quilt Show 2009

Chatham will be responsible for getting the vendors. The co-chairs are Lucille Tremblay, Claudine Sullivan and Eileen Powers. These ladies need help from everyone in Chatham when the time comes to start inviting vendors to our quilt show.  Only one donation quilt is being made with a combination of pieced and applique, the co-chairs for the quilt are Beth Bender and Rose Luehrsen.  Watch the web site (see box below) for info about the quilt show including the submission categories with explanations.

For those of you who asked . . .
May this quilt keep you safe from harm.
May it be your good luck charm.
I do not know your name nor the mountains you face.
What you hold in your arms is a "Quilter's Embrace ".
