Directions for Tree Napkins by Marilyn Crosby, class taught by
You will need, two Contrasting Fabrics (1/2 yd of each makes four napkins.)
-
Draw semi-circular pattern on the wrong side of the light fabric.
-
Draw marking for opening.
-
Put both fabrics together, with right sides facing each other.
-
Sew around all napkins drawn, leaving the opening so you can turn them inside out.
-
Cut out around pattern, 1/4 inch away from stitching, except where the hole is to turn the fabric, there leave 1/2 inch.
-
Turn napkins inside out, making sure everything lays smooth.
-
Press it down. The opening where you turned the napkin should fold nicely inside.
-
Use a small piece of stitch witchery to seal the opening. (Press it down).
-
Measure 5 1/2 includes from the bottom, along the straight edge of the napkin.
-
Mark with a pin.
-
From there, holding where the pin is, make fold in the napkin so it looks like a tree giving you the contrast of both colors.
