Chatham Quilt Retreat 2008

Submitted by, Maureen Girardin

A year has passed since my first retreat
made many new friends that can't be beat

It all began with a bag of goodies and finding our room
Hello and hugs to see our buddies
setting up sewing machines and
getting ready to begin soon

Fabric of every color and classes to learn a new design
Teachers for table runners, Celtic and landscapes with
teddy bears and stack and slash
working hard and sewing fast so I could finish mine

most of all I enjoyed getting to know more of you quilting gals
who are fun to be with
ready to help you out, share a ruler or just give you a lift

Each time we get together to meet
we learn a little more about each other
perhaps some laughter, some family news, or a new technique

A retreat is not a time to roam
snacks and pickies to share and some soda to drink
The Chatham Retreat is home away from home

Last year I was a "new be" here and your guest
this year I am a very happy member and like you
I am now part of the best.
